Sit Down Before You Fall

It’s like the baby who won’t stop jumping off the couch. You say calmly, “stop jumping before you fall sweetheart.” Baby giggles and continue to jump🤸🏾‍♂️. In less than 5 seconds, BOOM😩;baby done jumped too short and hit that floor! Yep!! That’s how it feels when you “learn the hard way” that it is best to do what your Father (God) told you the first time!

And just like that baby, I shall take this lesson and sit my behind down🤦🏾‍♀️.

My daddy tell us all the time, “I’ll have to let life teach you what I can’t tell you!” After the brush I just had with reality😩, it is safe to say that he(my daddy) and the Father(God) are on the same page!

As adults, we sometimes behave like babies who can’t or shall I say won’t take heed to the crystal clear warning because we figure, “I got this!” But you don’t, and he knew you didn’t so he warned you (again) before your traumatic fall of destruction. If you have ever witnessed this sometimes hilarious tragedy as a parent, you know how tough it can be to refrain from saying, “I told you so” or maybe not!

Three things to learn from the fall:

1. He Was Right!!! You heard what he said, but at the time, you figured you could handle it! You just wanted to have a little fun right?!

Note: The most difficult time to hear from God is when he’s not saying what you want to hear! Ouch!

2. The Fall Didn’t Kill You. Again, if you have witnessed your sweet little baby falling flat on their face, you want to lay down and cry with them😢. But you can’t because they have to learn!! They must learn to listen and they must learn to obey! Sometimes, you just have to let life teach them what you can’t tell them🤷🏾‍♀️.

After the fall!😔😂 “My Snapchat Inspired Nephew”

3. There’s a Blessing in the Lesson. Yes it hurt, yes you felt shame, yes you cried but guess what, you also got up!

Sit down before you fall is dedicated to every person who has decided to rekindle wrong relationships for loneliness sake! It can seem like a good idea to jump into something that’s familiar and perhaps fun but it is also dreadfully painful when that slap of reality that this person HAS NOT changed hits you like a FedEx truck full of packages! I tried it, I fell, it hurt, but I got up!🙌🏾

Note: Baby, sit down before you fall
